Budapest
Crossing the Danube, the Hungarian capital, is offering us the charm of its architecture. Called the pearl of the Danube, Budapest will enchant you with its prestigious cultural buildings, its bridges, its thermal baths and its unique atmosphere of old imperial capital.
On the right bank the hill of Buda with the old city, where lived the dynasty of the Hapsburg invite you to drift off into a dream with its traditional houses and the towers of the fishermen bastion. On the left bank, in the plain, you will admire Pest where the economic heart of the city has been developed.

In the south of Pest, facing the Danube, the Palace of Arts, unique and modern building was erected in 2005 in the recent district of the Millennium. Distinguished by the architectural prize Fiabci, this large building shelters a museum of Contemporary Art where you will admire Pablo Picasso’s and Andy Warhol’s works, as well as the concert hall Béla Bartok, renowned for its excellent acoustic, that seduced Riccardo Chailly, Myung-Whun Chung, Pierre Boulez, Daniel Barenboim and others great directors.

As for the National Opera, it distinguishes itself by its impressive architecture, typical of the end of the nineteenth century. In 2013, the Theatre Erkel, the “popular opera” as it was previously named, reopens after years of refurbishment. Both scenes offer a quality opera season that shows the strong Hungarian opera tradition.
