Lisette Oropesa
Born in New Orleans in 1983, Lisette Oropesa is one of the most sought-after (coloratura) sopranos of her generation. With her extensive repertoire of roles, she is a guest on all the great stages of the world. Jedermann - H. v. Hofmannsthal
Probably no other work is as closely associated with the Salzburg Summer Festival as Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s (1874-1929) "Jedermann. Das Spiel vom Sterben des reichen Mannes." Every summer, in good weather, Salzburg’s famous Cathedral Square is transformed into the beautiful backdrop for the play - which can by now look back on nearly 700 performances. Central issue of the Salzburg Festival classic is the timeless question of death and the afterlife. Even Hugo von Hofmannsthal was aware that dealing with death had increasingly moved to the margins of society. A fact that has become even more acute for today’s generation, although the current pandemic shows us how quickly this can change in public discourse. As a basis Hofmannsthal used an English play of the 16th century, "Everyman. A Morality Play," as well as various songs from medieval Minnesang. Despite both, classical and medieval references, von Hofmannsthal deliberately created a work free of any time of action.

Marc Minkowski
French conductor Marc Minkowski was born on October 4, 1962 in Paris. His passion for music began when he was a college student at the Ecole Alsacienne. In 1979, even before his majority, Marc Minkowski joined the Lille orchestra under the direction of Jean-Claude Casadesus. Marc Minkowski performed very quickly in many orchestras, in particular among pioneer ensembles of the Baroque revival such as Les Arts Florissants or the Clemencic Consort in Vienna. Marc Minkowski quickly took an interest in conducting, which he studied in the United States at the Pierre Monteux Conducting School. At only nineteen, Marc Minkowski founded Les Musiciens du Louvre, an ensemble which took an active part in the Baroque revival, before broadening its repertoire by approaching works by Mozart, Rossini, Offenbach Wagner and many others. Marc Minkowski has been director of the Opéra national de Bordeaux since September 2016, his contract is extended until August 2022.
