Salzburg
Summer Festival
This year, as is well known, everything is different - but the Salzburg Festival is stemming against cultural clear-cutting and has put together a modified, very considerable programme. Due to the announced relaxation from August 1, it is possible to let the anniversary year take place from August 1 to 30 after all.

The original motto, which was intended to shed light on the great social issues of the past, present and future - community, radical individualism and the hope of a changeable world through a new humanity - has lost nothing of its relevance in Corona times.

The "Everyman", which is part of the inventory, will not be missing, nor will concerts with the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, with the Mozarteum Orchestra and a guest concert with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. The new production of "Elektra", which will be staged in the Rock Riding School with a large orchestra despite all adversities, can be considered a surprise: "I was a black corpse among the living, and this hour I am the fire of life, and my flame burns the darkness of the world.
The second opera, "Così fan tutte", will be conducted by Joana Mallwitz. It should be nothing special in 2020 when a woman takes over the direction of the Vienna Philharmonic - but it is.

Even in this summer, which is exceptional in every respect, allow yourself to experience the special, touching and yet in some ways unique atmosphere of this festival. Despite the unusual restrictions, you will almost certainly experience an unforgettable stay on the Salzach. Austrian hospitality will do its utmost to ensure that you have a relaxing time.

Mozartwoche
Under the theme “Mozart Lives”, the Mozart Week, which still counts as an insider tip among the Salzburg Festival series, commemorates the birthday of her famous son. In his second year as artistic director, Rolando Villazón focuses on chamber music for brass and woodwind, including the famous Stadler Quintet. The staged production of Le nozze di Figaro and Mozart’s German version of Handel’s Messiah offer a full orchestral sound. As every year, the Vienna Philharmonic is also a welcome guest. Look forward to top-class musical enjoyment and experience the enchanting charm of a wintry Salzburg against the backdrop of snow-capped peaks!
