Summer festival
Helga Rabl-Stadler has presided over the Salzburg Festival as president for a remarkable and unique 27 years, and will be allowed to share responsibility for the 2022 summer program one last time. The four new productions are all based on Dante Alighieri’s "Divine Comedy": Puccini’s "Trittico" - all three leading female roles are taken by the wonderful soprano Asmik Grigorian - Bartók’s "Duke Bluebeard’s Castle" as a double bill with Orff’s "Game of the End of Times" and Janáček’s "Káťa Kabanová" gather "all energies, the despair energies of the inferno, of damnation, the hope energies of purgatory and the energies of bliss in paradise," according to artistic director Markus Hinterhäuser. Last year’s acclaimed "Jedermann" version with Verena Altenberger and Lars Eidinger enters its second round, and the usual first-class orchestral sounds will continue to pamper the ears and souls of music lovers in 2022.In the midst of World War I, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Max Reinhardt and Richard Strauss had the dream of creating festivals that would unite nations and promote peace. Art is "a language that can do anything, if only it wants to and if it is allowed to. {...} I firmly believe that art can offer orientation in our rather unhinged world." Follow Rabl-Stadler’s words and come to Salzburg. If you do not want to arrange your own travel, we will of course be happy to include flight and private transfers in the arrangements.

The Mozart Week, traditionally the first festival of the year around the birthday of the famous Salzburg composer, unites the best Mozart interpreters at the Salzach in its fifth year under Rolando Villazón’s directorship and presents a contrast between childlike and last mature works of the composer. The entire musical diversity of Mozart will be heard: the first and last symphonies and violin sonatas, a semi-staged performance of "Don Giovanni", early and mature piano concertos, the C minor Mass or the famous Requiem.
Salzburg in winter - that is a very special atmosphere. It is probably rare in the year to experience the city in such a contemplative way: Strolling through the old town, strolling through the Mirabell Gardens, the obligatory visit to a café or a visit to the Hohensalzburg Fortress - with a panoramic view over the rooftops and the sugar-covered mountains of the Salzburg region.

Easter Festival.
Easter, the festival and the time of change as well as renewal has been musically synonymous in Salzburg for many decades with exclusivity in the best sense! As a private festival, Herbert von Karajan founded the festival in 1967, which is financed from this idea to this day almost 90% from private funds and fulfills the greatest possible artistic freedom.
The 2023 Easter Festival will continue the tradition and at the same time break new ground, in that from now on a changing orchestra will lead the festival each year at the request of artistic director Nikolaus Bachler.
A new "Tannhäuser", with top-class cast in all roles, as well as touching orchestral concerts await you in the unique festival city of Salzburg. The oldest civic orchestra, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig under their maestro Andris Nelsons are responsible, in the easterly thought of Goethe completely after the motto: "Here I am man, here I may be."
Experience a few spring-like, soothing days and come to Salzburg!
