The soprano Sandrine Piau has made a name for herself on the international music scene, especially in the French and German-language song repertoire and Baroque music, and is a welcome guest on concert and opera stages worldwide. Born in 1965, the Frenchwoman convinces with her sensitive performances both in opera productions and on the concert stage. In keeping with her musical focus, she has appeared in the roles of Dalinda (Ariodante), Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Alcina, and others, and has also been successful as Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Constance (Le Dialogue des Carmélites), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni).In the course of her long singing career, Sandrine Piau has appeared on the festival stages of the Salzburg Festival or the Festival d`Aix en Provence at the Paris Opera, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the opera house La Monnaie, the Concertgebouw, Musikverein, Carnegie Hall or the Elbphilharmonie.In addition to the stage tours, Piau releases CDs exclusively for Alpha Classics. In 2006 she was awarded the title Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres.
