Così fan tutte - W. A. Mozart
Almost entirely in December 1789, the year of the revolution, the score of this Mozart opera, which is hard to beat in its complexity and amour, was written in the shortest possible time - this time again in collaboration with the famous librettist Lorenzo da Ponte, with whom Mozart had just before successfully brought "Le nozze di Figaro" to the stage. Probably in the tradition of the opera buffa, the opera “Così fan tutte - ossia la scuola degli amanti” was commissioned by Emperor Joseph II. At the center of the amusingly frivolous event is the experienced cynic Don Alfonso, who knows the weaknesses of mankind and who, like a puppeteer, allows the four main characters to repeatedly come together in new pair constellations. The plot, which is kept quite simple and contains no superfluous episodes, is symmetrically structured and corresponds to its character according to the Commedia dell’arte. The duets of the individual couples are bewitching and sensually musical, reflecting the vulnerability and impermanence of the human being. After the work was critically and negatively judged due to the moralizing basic attitude of the 19th century, and repeated revisions were made to the libretto, the opera is now one of the absolute favorites of the public. The American feature film Closer from 2004 with Julia Roberts and Jude Law in the leading roles is based on "Così fan tutte" both in its score and soundtrack.

Anja Kampe
Anja Kampe studied at the universities of Dresden and Turin and has made a name for herself in the classical music scene, especially with her Wagner interpretations. Born in 1968, the soprano from Thuringia first attracted international attention when she appeared alongside Plácido Domingo in the role of Sieglinde at the Washington Opera. Kampe subsequently took her roles of Kundry, Brünnhilde, Senta or Isolde to the most renowned opera houses in the world, from the Vienna State Opera, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Berlin State Opera to the legendary Bayreuth Festival. Furthermore, the soprano from Thuringia celebrated successes in the roles of Katerina Ismailova and Minnie (La Fanciulla del West), Leonore (Fidelio) or Lisa (Queen of Spades), among others. In 2018 the soprano was appointed Bavarian Chamber Singer. Kampe thus joins the ranks of successful artist colleagues such as Anja Harteros, Diana Damrau, Christian Gerhaher and Jonas Kaufmann.
Anja Kampe,
Klaus Florian Vogt
The name Klaus Florian Vogt (*1970) is certainly known to all Wagnerians, as the tenor is one of the Wagner specialists of our time. In the dramatic roles of "Lohengrin," "Parsifal" or "Tannhäuser," he has caused quite a stir to this day. These and other Wagner roles have brought him to the great stages of our time, from the Vienna State Opera to the New York Met. Since 2007, Vogt has appeared almost continuously at the Bayreuth Festival, and in the new production of the "Ring" (originally planned for 2020) he will take on the role of Siegmund. The repertoire of the native North German is, however, much more complex and, in addition to Wagner, includes, for example, the role of Florestan in Beethoven’s only opera "Fidelio" or that of Paul in Korngold’s "Die tote Stadt." Vogt, who was awarded the ECHO-Klassik prize as Artist of the Year (2012), has also enjoyed international success in lied and chamber music. Most recently, the singer can be heard in the CD recording of the Beethoven symphonies by the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under Parvo Järvi as soloist alongside Christiane Oelze, Maria Lang and Matthias Goerne in the 9th symphony - incidentally, he also took on this role for the 2021 New Year’s Concert of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
