Every year in the summer month of August, the Italian city of Pesaro honours its most famous son, Gioachino Rossini. ‘La mia musica fa fuore’ - he was proved right to this day, as his music is full of tempo and joie de vivre. Since 1980, the Rossini Opera Festival has presented itself as a great talent factory for the next generation of bel canto composers and, in addition to performing the famous works, also focuses on rediscovering the lesser-known compositions. Performances take place in the intimate, beautifully playful Teatro Rossini, built in 1637 and rebuilt several times to date, in the middle of the centro storico, as well as in the Auditorium Scavolini, which allows for larger stage constructions and images...The Marche region is also home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the nearby artistic jewel of Urbino, the beautiful beaches and the green hinterland.
