Puccini, who made Torre del Lago on the Tuscan coast his home in 1891, expressed shortly before his death in 1924 his wish to hear his operas performed in the enchanting setting of Lake Massaciuccoli. Six years later, thanks to the initiative of Giovacchino Forzano and Pietro Mascagni, the Puccini Festival was born — today an institution that pays tribute every summer to the great composer.

To mark the centenary of the creation of Turandot, the 2026 edition will open with a new staging of this masterpiece, followed by Puccini’s most beloved works, including Tosca, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, and La Fanciulla del West. World-renowned singers such as Anna Pirozzi, Angela Meade, Sonya Yoncheva, Roberto Alagna, and Vittorio Grigolo will grace the stage.

Two highly anticipated gala evenings will complete the program — one featuring Jonas Kaufmann, the other Plácido Domingo.
