The 2026–2027 season at the Vienna State Opera will be distinguished by several major new productions. Among the most eagerly awaited are the double bill of Eine florentinische Tragödie and Bluebeard’s Castle starring Asmik Grigorian, a new production of Ariadne auf Naxos featuring Kate Lindsey, as well as I Capuleti e i Montecchi bringing together Lisette Oropesa and Emily D’Angelo.

The Theater an der Wien will also present a series of rarely performed new productions throughout the year, including La Calisto, The Golden Cockerel and Leonore.
