Brussels
Brussels, the capital of Europe, is a cosmopolitan city that has preserved its traditional character. A city of striking contrasts, it seamlessly blends Flemish heritage and Art Nouveau, the legacy of the Industrial Revolution and modernity. Internationally renowned for its Grand-Place, the Manneken Pis, the buildings designed by Victor Horta and its celebrated comic-book artists, Brussels cultivates a refined art of living, making it a delightful destination for a musical escape.

The La Monnaie, whose current building was designed by Joseph Poelaert in 1855, is one of Europe’s leading opera houses. Its prestigious history includes distinguished directors such as Gérard Mortier and Bernard Foccroulle.

The 2026–2027 season marks the first fully conceived by Christina Scheppelmann, while the musical direction continues under Alain Altinoglu. The highly eclectic programme alternates between major operatic masterpieces, rarely performed works and productions reflecting the concerns and social themes of our contemporary world.
